"Making the decision to have a child is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body." ~Elizabeth Stone "The family - that dear octopus from whose tentacles we never quite escape, nor, in our inmost hearts, ever quite wish to." ~Dodie Smith

Zoe's Birthday, Phase 3
For Zoe's last birthday gift, I always take the girls to a movie for their birthday. It is a tradition I started many years ago. But, now that Zoe is 12 and way too cool to hang out with Mom, she asked if I could drop her off to see a movie with her boyfriend, her best friend and another boy. I agreed. I figured she was old enough to be dropped off and picked up at the theater, yes, I was very nervous, and I might have even cried a little on the way home (don't judge!), but, all in all, it was a great success, for me and for Zoe. I wanted to take a picture when I dropped her off, but Zoe said that I was embarassing her, so there are no pictures to commemorate this event.

Aw, I would cry too! I guess embarrassing your kid is a rite of passage as a parent. :)
